Event Description

Tips to Attract, Recruit and Retain Female Truck Drivers in 2017

Women comprise only nine percent of the driver population and half of the industry is retiring over the next years. How can you fill empty seats with some of the best drivers on the road today by attracting more women to your company?

The Women in Trucking Association has partnered with researchers to better understand the female driver population and the why, how and what it takes to attract them into the industry, and to your company. Everyone needs more money to survive these days. For women this is a career where they can make great money. It is one of those few jobs that provide equal pay to women and as carriers fight over new drivers every day because of a huge driver shortage, it won't take very long to get this new career off the ground.

In this session by expert speaker Debbie Halvorson-Bush, you will learn tips on what women look for in a recruiting ad and what attracts them to a career in the first place.  You’ll learn about effective strategies to attract, recruit and retain female truck drivers for your company in 2017.
