OSHA estimates the cost of over $300 million per year in lost production time, medical expenses, and workers’ compensation costs to companies. Eye and face hazards may include, but are not limited to chemical, environmental, radiological or mechanical reasons. Therefore, OSHA has saw the need to update the Eye and Face safety standard to better protect the workers and hold employers responsible for controlling hazards.
