Event Description

Implementing a Successful Mobility-as-a-Service System, Business Models and the Role of Public Transport Operators

Combined Mobility, or Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), is a hot topic among transport planners and ITS professionals. As an attractive alternative to car ownership, it is expected to increase the share of sustainable transport modes in urban areas. The technology is there, but how about business models, the roles of Public Transport operators and other mobility service providers – who should be the integrator? And how about the effects on travel behavior and the transport system and cities as a whole? Do we need combined mobility when vehicles are self-driving?

In this webinar, expert speaker Hans Arby will use the successful and thoroughly evaluated UbiGo Gothenburg pilot as a starting point and put the some of the current developments and discussions in a business and societal perspective. It will also show different stakeholders be prepared.

There is a lot of confusion about what “MaaS” is, and that depending on profession and organization, everybody see different things, and that most are either too positive or negative about the effects and challenges. This is not so strange. Hardly anybody have run an actual operation. Seeing is believing, doing is understanding. MaaS in no magical wand to sustainable cities, but it has a great potential if set up in the right way.

This webinar will give you a better understanding of what Mobility-as-a-service is, its benefits and challenges for your organization and customers. You will know if, and how, you need to prepare for the introduction of MaaS-schemes and what role to take.

Session Highlights:
