Event Description

Develop a Plan that Complies with the FDA FSMA Food Transportation Requirements

The final date for you to be "fully-compliant" with Food Safety Modernization Act's (FSMA) Final Rule on Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Foods was April 6, 2018. All impacted shippers, carriers, and receivers should have completed all training, food safety transportation plans, and system improvements by that date. However, even now there are thousands of U.S. carriers who have not yet established plans or provided training for loaders, unloaders, drivers, and other personnel involved in food transportation. And even if you have provided the mandatory training to your staff—it’s only the beginning of your compliance requirements.

In addition to mandated training, the rules require you to develop plans for substantial improvement to procedures and processes involving sanitation and temperature controls to prevent adulteration of human and animal foods during transportation processes. And to provide evidence of rule compliance, you must have in place substantial documentation—such as written agreements between shippers and carriers—to prove that your entire carrier supply chain is in compliance.

Learn all about FDA's enforcement of FSMA's Final Rule on Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Foods in this webinar by food safety expert Dr. John Ryan. Dr. Ryan will show you how to develop and implement a food safety plan to fully comply with the Final Rule. He will walk you through the basic rule requirements, practical documentation solutions, recall requirements, and a lot more to help you devise a sound food safety plan.

After attending this webinar, you will know the transportation food safety requirements inside out, and you will be able to add them successfully to your food safety plan. You will be able to think and plan preventively, thereby eliminating chances of coming into conflict with any FDA compliance requirements.
