Dick Axelrod

Dick and Emily Axelrod founded The Axelrod Group, Inc., a consulting firm that pioneered the use of employee involvement to effect large?scale organizational change. They now bring a combined sixty years of consulting and teaching experience to this work, with clients including Boeing, Chicago Public Schools, Calgary Health Authority, Coca?Cola, Harley?Davidson, Hewlett-Packard, and the UK’s National Health Service. Dick is faculty in University of Chicago’s Masters in Threat and Response Management Program and American University’s Masters in Organization Development program. Emily serves on the board of the Organization Development Network of Chicago; is President of the Berrett Koehler Authors, Inc., and is an executive coach. Along with Julie Beedon and Robert Jacobs, they co?authored You Don’t Have to Do It Alone: How to Involve Others to Get Things Done, which the New York Times called, “the best of the current crop of books on this subject.” Dick is the author of the award-winning Terms of Engagement: New Ways of Leading and Changing Organizations. He is the recipient of the Organization Development Network’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Teaching Excellence Award from University of Chicago’s Graham School of Liberal and Professional Studies. Dick and Emily’s latest book is Let’s Stop Meeting Like This: Tools to Save Time and Get More Done. Dick received his MBA from the University of Chicago. Emily received her Master’s in Teaching from the University of North Carolina and Masters in Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago.
