Jill M. Young, CPC, has been in the medical field over 20 years. As president of Young Medical Consulting, LLC she has had a diverse background having held or performed all jobs in a medical office, from clinical to transcription to billing. Education leads to compliance, and she works with both staff and physicians to achieve this. Current issues of HIPAA, credentialing, billing, coding, A/R work and improvement of office flow, including encounter forms and coding sheets, are regularly seen areas in need of improvement that are identified through education. In her role as consultant, her hands-on office experience and her detective approach to the problem solving that billing presents are what she credits with her success.
Young has been selected as a speaker at the National AAPC meeting for her expertise in Sleep Disorders. She also does educational seminars nationally as a member of the speakers panel for the AAPC and locally for the Michigan State Medical Society. Young is a member of Medicare’s Provider Communication Advisory Board (PCOM), Michigan Medical Billers’ Association, Michigan Medical Group Management Association (MMGMA) and is currently the Treasurer of the Lansing AAPC Chapter (Capitol Area Coders). She is also a past member of the National Advisory Board f the AAPC.
