I have worked at Ohio University for 17 years including 4 years as an academic advisor. Currently, I am an academic advisor in The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education. Prior to becoming an academic advisor I was the assistant director of our student recreation center and spent approximately 15 years in collegiate recreation where one of my main focuses was student employment at any given time I worked with 200 plus students and did a lot of “life” advising with them. So when the opportunity arose it was a fairly easy transition into the world of academic advising. I participated in the Appreciative Advising Institute in Louisville, KY in July of 2014. I have presented at the Appreciate Education (2015), NACADA National Conference (2015) and the Virginia Tech Advising Matters Conference (2016).
My bachelor’s degree is from East Carolina University and my master’s degree is from James Madison University. I am currently working on a second master’s degree from Ohio University in Higher Education.
