Karen received a bachelor's in French from Eastern Kentucky University and a master's in College Student Personnel from Miami University, Oxford, OH. Karen has more than 25 years' experience working in Higher Education. She served at Miami University as the Director of Health Education and the Miami University Hamilton Campus as Coordinator of Student Activities, Recreational Sports and Athletics. Karen currently is the Assistant Dean and Director of New Student Orientation and Transfer Transition Services for Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Under her leadership Florida Atlantic University successfully implemented a flipped orientation model. In addition to the flipped classroom format Karen spearheaded an onboarding operations group charged with streamlining the student onboarding experience and increasing student yield through comprehensive services coordination and improved enrollment programs, policies and practices. The onboarding coalition effort yielded the university the largest freshman class on record.
