Steve is owner, architect, and design catalyst at Arocordis Design in Montpelier, VT. He practices high performance workplace, commercial and residential design while engaging greater community and sustainability concerns. He is building a practice notable for its values driven design process, focusing on building great work cultures through the power of design thinking.
Notable work includes multiple projects for National Life Group helping them modernize over 150,000 sf of offices and common spaces serving their complex of over 500,000 sf, the largest office building in Vermont. Other work includes projects for AllEarth Renewables, Rural Edge, The City of Montpelier. Formerly Steve acted as architect, project manager, and finally design director at Maclay Architects, an award winning Vermont architecture firm from 2001 to 2010. There Steve had leadership roles in design on a variety of important commercial, institutional, and residential commissions the firm took on. Before returning home to Vermont in 2001, Steve lived and worked in Denver, Colorado graduating from the University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning, at Denver in 1992 where he worked for a variety of Denver firms on large scale commercial and institutional projects through 2001.
