Faraz Shafiq

Faraz is currently the Senior Technology Director for BigData at AT&T. His team focuses on the strategy and analytics for digital media. Faraz has over eleven years of experience in the telecommunications industry with first tier global firms. Throughout his career, Faraz's finesse and solid track record in effectively managing technology, business and people has provided him opportunities to hold positions with increasing responsibilities. Faraz started his career with Motorola and holds the honor of working on the first commercial 4G network in the world and then on the biggest commercial 4G network in the world as well (EMEA 2008). Faraz has been instrumental in transforming the AT&T network with move towards advanced technologies like 4G. Faraz has also led consulting initiatives for AT&T and delivered strong savings through his operations excellence programs. Previously, Faraz led various engineering projects for Verizon in Philadelphia and has consulted for T-Mobile on strategic engineering initiatives. Faraz has also been part of the regional executive body of IEEE and has been awarded numerous accolades throughout his career.

Faraz is known as an expert in strategy and operations excellence. Faraz is a certified Six Sigma practitioner and a certified Project Management Professional. Faraz holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and is currently finishing his MBA from the Haas business school at UC Berkeley. Faraz enjoys playing tennis and soccer and is an avid motorcycle rider. Faraz lives in the San Francisco bay area and loves the abundance of hike trails."
