James P. Evans has significant experience advising and representing educational institutions, including public and private elementary and secondary schools and postsecondary institutions. As a Partner with Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, he provides educational institutions with advice and representation on issues including constitutional law; student discipline, privacy and speech; labor and employment; regulatory compliance; issues pertaining to disabled students; board governance; and risk management.
Mr. Evans received his Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from Syracuse University’s College of Law in 1991. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 to 1993, attaining the rank of Captain, and received the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, and Southwest Asia Service Medal, among other commendations.
Mr. Evans and his wife reside in Camillus, New York with their children.
