Chris is a self-described HR evangelist. He believes that artful application of progressive human resources principles and practices is the answer to most organizational challenges. His background includes having served as the chief human resources officer for three different colleges or universities and a state college system.
He is a former question writer for the PHR and SPHR examinations administered by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). His areas of expertise are employment, training, and performance management-or, in his words, "finding, developing, and managing talent in organizations." He is the author of numerous human resources related articles and three books including the new Search Committees: A Comprehensive Guide for Successful Faculty, Staff, and Administrative Searches which is published in association with CUPA-HR.
Chris's first Search Committees book earned the 2001 Kathryn Hansen publication award from the CUPA-HR.
