Maria Concepcion Ayon has worked in Higher Education for the past 16 years. She received both her Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree from California State University, Northridge. Her work experience in Student Services ranges from advising prospective and current college students, planning special programs and events, implementing a wide range of on and off campus programs and evaluating the success of such programs.
Maria began at California State University, Northridge as the Information Resources Coordinator in the Student Outreach and Recruitment Department developing marketing plans and recruitment strategies for the University's student information system. At Hartnell College in Salinas, California, she served as the Director of Student Outreach and implemented a variety of government funded special programs targeting underserved communities. She's also worked at Antioch University, Los Angeles Pierce College and is currently working at the University of La Verne as the Assistant Director of Teacher Education Programs. Maria has worked with various populations of students including adult learners, foster youth, students with disabilities, low-income and many more.
