Despite all the stunning incidents and their ugly media coverage, the research demonstrates that the vast majority of school/campus administrations have not done an effective job of emergency planning and training for their staffs and students. The vast majority of schools/campuses could not pass an inspection from OSHA or their Fire Marshal regarding all-hazards planning, nor the training of all employees as required by law.
Whether it’s an Active Shooter, chemical spill outside, tornado, workplace violence—any of it—administrations don’t have command, control and communications to commence their response using their staffs in seconds, nor to collaborate with emergency services when they arrive. Administrations have not drilled all staff and students across all kinds of emergencies, nor have they conducted a tabletop exercise to identify vulnerabilities and gaps in their plans and training.
Join this session by expert speaker Bo Mitchell to know what the biggest threat to your campus is, and how you can create real emergency planning and training so that your institution is protected against such threats.
