The HUD-VASH Program is a combination of Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless veterans and their families with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). VA provides these services to veteran at its medical centers and in the community.
HUD-VASH assists homeless veterans and their families by providing them with safe, sanitary and decent housing by distributing housing vouchers to them. The selection procedure of beneficiaries is based on certain requirements including health care eligibility, homelessness status, and income. This is a popular program to assist veterans through housing and case management to become self sufficient and move from potential homelessness into permanent housing.
