All You Need to Know About Recertifications!

A family is eligible for assistance on the basis of its income, as determined in accordance with program rules. Changes to income or family composition can affect the amount of assistance a tenant is eligible to receive, and, therefore, the amount paid by the tenant for rent. As a tenant’s income and family composition can change over time, program requirements establish procedures for addressing these changes. These changes are examined and implemented through the recertification process. It is the Owner/Agent’s responsibility for promptly reviewing and verifying this information and for making changes in tenant rent or assistance payments consistent with program requirements.

This session by expert speaker Debbie Hixon will provide you all the training and information you need on Recertification. As HUD has started to conduct Management and Occupancy Reviews (MOR’s), these do’s and don’ts  need to be understood and complied with in order to make sure there will be a good report on the MOR. It could lead to incorrected findings and the HUD might withhold some of the voucher requests, or worse, decide to no longer work with the O/A. You’ll learn how to avoid all these pitfalls in this webinar.
