Learn How to Utilize HUD’s Expertise and Funds to Save and Restore Historic Properties

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has devised policies and guidelines through which historic preservation can be linked with other eligible activity under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. These programs assist in restoring and preserving historic structures, and can also be used to meet economic development, revitalization and energy conservation objectives. Many historic properties are worth saving – and you can partner with HUD to achieve this without the usual hurdles.

Join this live webinar with industry veteran Paul Flogstad who will explore all facets of historic preservation using HUD funds. Flogstad will provide valuable insights on how to effectively partner with HUD to save and restore as many historic properties as possible. Flogstad will explain all the necessary items you will need to deal with – such as data collection, studies and analysis. He will also show you how to develop functional plans for different purposes.

Flogstad will get down to the nuts and bolts by answering all your questions – such as how to partner and work with HUD, how to find existing older buildings in your city, and how to decide whether it is better to save rather than demolish older structures.

You will also learn what kind of properties can be restored, the rules to acquire, construct and reconstruct such properties, as well as the costs, tax incentives and benefits, among other things.
