Event Description

Learn How to Avoid Noncompliance with FHA’s Disparate Impact Rulings

Under HUD’s rules and recent action on disparate impact, you can be held liable as a lender, landlord, or housing provider for discrimination against protected classes even if it was not your intent to discriminate. Half-hearted efforts to comply with the HUD/FHA rules and regulations will no longer work. To avoid getting into trouble, you will have to proactively ensure that you are not discriminating on grounds of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, or disability.

Get current with the new rulings and developments on disparate impact liability under FHA in this webinar by housing expert Paul Flogstad. Flogstad will walk you through the important recent developments in HUD rulemaking and issuance of guidance based on disparate impact liability under FHA. Using real-world examples, he will share the steps you can take to avoid coming into conflict with disparate impact rulings.

After attending this webinar, you will know all the new rulings that apply to the disparate impact liability under FHA. You will know the definition of disparate impact; its history; when it occurs; burden shifting test; and HUD’s new rules. You will also be better placed to identify and fix the gaps in your policies and practices and bring them in compliance with HUD's latest guidance on disparate impact liability.
