If you think that Excel is all about working with numbers, then think again. More and more people are turning to Excel to help them to manage list-based, tabular data. In many cases, they receive, download, or import data from elsewhere and before that data can be used within their business and treated as a credible source of information, it needs be seriously checked and cleaned. There might be duplicate entries, there might be non-printing characters. There might be extra spaces. The data might need splitting up (for example with a list of names, the first name and surname of each customer might be in a single cell which is going to cause problems if you need to sort the list).
In this webinar, expert speaker Mike Thomas discusses how to deal with such problems and fix all the issues related to managing tabular data and lists in Excel. You will learn how to convert a block of data into a Table, which opens up many more possibilities when it comes to managing and working with structured data. You will develop an understanding on how to sort your list alphabetically, numerically and chronologically.
The presentation also covers how to create Filters to display just the data that matches specified criteria. It will teach you how to link Excel to an external data source such as a corporate database or a SharePoint list. And finally, you will also learn how to produce meaningful summaries from your data by using appropriate functions and generating reports.
