Reduce Sampling with Zero Acceptance—without Sacrificing Quality

Quality Inspections are mandatory, but they don’t add real value to your manufacturing processes. The good news is: You can minimize their disruptive impact.

Under most circumstances, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4’s sampling plans (formerly MIL-STD-105s) do minimize attribute (good/bad) inspections by quickly rejecting bad lots and accepting good ones. But there is a way to reduce inspections even further.

Join William A. Levinson, a productivity systems pro, as he reveals the benefits of a zero acceptance sampling plan—which you can implement using a corresponding ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 plan once you’re confident in the high quality of your process results. Levinson shows you how to set low acceptable quality levels to assure customers that the zero acceptance plan’s protection against poor quality is at least as good as what the original ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 plan would have allowed.

Levinson will explain how to: use the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 tables and switching rules, convert any ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 plan to a zero acceptance plan, and present the customer with an operating characteristic (OC) curve that demonstrates the level of quality protection is equal to that of the traditional ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 plan.
