Event Description

Improve Your Audit Program for ISO/GRC and React to Nonconformities (NCs) Better

Nonconformities (NCs) are one of the most important outcomes of an audit. When written accurately, they can help you to assess the level to which your management system is compliant with a standard, such as ISO or GRC. Yet, many organizations use extreme, not-very-definitive terms – such as major or minor – that fail to provide guidance on how each nonconformity should be addressed.

In this webinar, industry veteran Duke Okes will teach you how to respond appropriately to each audit nonconformity by revealing the options that not only provide for better allocation of resources, but also lead to greater buy-ins from the management and process owners. Okes will also explain why the practices you’re currently following may not be sufficient.

Okes will show you the different ways to rank audit NCs, and explain how they will benefit your organization and your audit program. He will use examples – such as from the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP), financial audits and risk-based thinking courses – to help you grasp more easily. He will caution you about certain ranking terminology issues, show you how to aggregate NCs and provide an overall view of the audit relative to risk, and explain why such actions are an excellent fit to risk-based thinking in ISO management system standards. And he will explain how nonlinear numeric scales can help when the number of risk levels is low.

After attending this highly instructive webinar, you will be able to improve your audit program for management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 20000 – as well as for Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) audits. Plus, you’ll be able to react better to NCs by successfully differentiating between levels of risk based on process, quality or organizational objectives.
