Trump Administration’s Immigration Policies and How They Affect Foreign National Employees in the U.S.

The new Presidential Administration has made immigration enforcement a high priority and its immigration policies reach far beyond undocumented workers. DHS site compliance visits, DOL Wage and Hour audits and I-9 inspections have substantially increased in the past few months and are expected to continue to expand.

While some of the Trump Administration immigration policies have been well publicized, such as the Executive Order for the Travel Ban, many have taken the form of internal administrative policies that do not receive press coverage. It is important for employers of foreign nationals, as well as foreign nationals on work visas, to be aware of all of these new policies and how they affect both the employer and the employee and effective strategies for dealing with these new policies.

In this webinar expert speaker Patricia A. Bollman will review the Trump Administration’s immigration policies and how they are affecting foreign national employees as well as their employers. Employers need to be aware of these new challenges and how they can be addressed to ensure compliance with work visa requirements and to facilitate smooth business practices.

This webinar will review Trump Administration immigration policies that affect employers who have foreign national employees and/or frequent business visitors from abroad. Patricia will review what a site compliance visit entails for employers who have sponsored employees for work visas (H-1B, H-2A, H-2B, TN, L1A and B, E3) as well as review other immigration compliance audits that employers could encounter.

She will also look at the challenges foreign nationals on work visas face when re-entering the United States after traveling abroad and how to best prepare them to handle these issues. Companies with frequent foreign national visitors are also under increased scrutiny and Patricia will review how to identify and handle these challenges. This webinar will address all of these issues and help employers of foreign nationals, and foreign nationals, properly prepare to handle the challenges of these new policies.
