Employee Termination in Organizations

Ending the employment relationship has become increasingly regulated by federal, state, local laws and regulations, and limited by judicial acceptance of such legal theories as implied contract, public policy exceptions, and wrongful discharge.  These laws and regulations circumscribe management's employment prerogatives and places limits on employers' traditional right to discharge employees considered to be employed "at will."
