Compliance Officers’ Eyes Are on Your Temp Worker Safety Plan

As an employer, it’s your duty to protect the health and safety of not just your regular employees but also your temps—and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is watching. Temporary workers may actually be at greater risk than full-time employees for workplace accidents, including fatal injuries, given that they’re so often new to the job site. And, since 2013, OSHA has ramped up its enforcement efforts specifically regarding temps.

Find out how to live up to the scrutiny and meet the federal standards for temporary worker safety in this webinar presented by EHS expert Joe Keenan. Keenan will cover OSHA compliance best practices including strategies for: conducting new hire orientation and safety training, inquiring about workers’ previous workplace safety education, and ensuring your temps are aware of both their rights (such as the right to refuse unsafe work) and their responsibilities (such as the duty to wear personal protective equipment).

After attending this program, you’ll have a clear idea of why and how you must update your efforts to ensure the health and safety of your temporary workers—and satisfy OSHA inspectors. You’ll know how to assess the specific hazards a temp performing at your site might face, and you’ll be better equipped to evaluate whether new workers have been adequately trained in relevant safety protocols.

Learn to provide a safe working environment for all workers—and, importantly, ensure that new workers start safe!
