New Overtime Regulations – What These Could Mean To You

The process for paying employees should be simple, right? Not exactly. The Fair Labor Standards Act is a very important, and rather complicated, federal law that defines who gets paid overtime and who doesn’t—and defines nearly all aspects of how workers get paid, including overtime wages. The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced new overtime regulations under this law, which become effective on December 1, 2016 and all employers—regardless of size—must comply with them.

Despite the new regulations about to take effect, a lot of HR professionals, particularly in smaller companies, are not even aware of violations. It isn’t uncommon to hear comments such as, “everyone here is on salary.”  Or, “just about all of our people are exempt.” If you’ve heard these kinds of comments, chances are you’re making some of the biggest and most expensive mistakes that are in violation of the law.

You can get to know more about this by joining expert speaker Natalie Ivey for a live webinar. In this conference, you will learn not only about compliance with the FLSA and the new regulations but how to quickly identify the top mistakes that cause employers to get into hot water with the Department of Labor. By learning how to recognize these common mistakes and how to fix them, you’ll improve your ability to talk with the boss about the “do’s and don’ts” so you can get your organization in compliance. The end result will be far fewer employee complaints—and much lower risk of a DOL investigation and litigation.
