Master California’s Wage and Hour Requirements in 2019

Payroll departments in California don’t have it easy. With possibly the largest number of wage and hour laws to contend with—including federal rules—you must not only be familiar with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the California Labor Law, but also know when which one takes priority. Otherwise, even the tiniest infractions might lead to serious penalties and other legal troubles.

Master California's wage and hour requirements in this power-packed webinar by payroll guru Vicki Lambert. She will share the new minimum wage rates for 2019, and the requirements for paying employees—including pay frequencies permitted and methods allowed under state’s laws—as well as the requirements when an employee's services are terminated. She will explain how to properly calculate overtime pay (including the Alvarado Decision). She will also elaborate what comprises 'hours worked' and how to handle such working hours’ reporting time pay, split shift pay, and meeting times. She will walk you through the different scenarios you should be aware of, explain when the state’s penalties can be invoked, and get you up to speed with other important updates.

Attending this webinar will equip you with a comprehensive knowledge of how employment laws work in California (including the new wage rates for 2019). You will be confident in your ability to nail the payroll calculation for your employees, while being on the right side of all the applicable employment laws—all the time!
