The International Standards Organization (ISO) has established operating standards for industry. ISO 14001 is the operating standard for the environment. With the standard in place a company may be certified that they meet the requirements of the standard. They may then market this achievement in selling their products. Though the ISO 14001 management system has been here for a decade now, there is no legal requirement to make it mandatory. However, having ISO 14001 in place is a message to your customers that your company shall operate consistent with all environmental requirements. Meaning that chances of your customers not receiving their orders due to environmental issues at your company are very low. Therefore, it makes business sense to have ISO 14001 in place in your organization.
In this session, our expert speaker Dr. Vince J. Marchesani, Ph.D, will concentrate on the latest changes to this very successful management system. He will be focusing on the ISO 14001 elements, responsibility, policy, an increased focus on sustainable development. Dr. Marchesani will also focus on the requirement for more strategic review of environmental management, protection of environment, environmental protection and risk management. Additionally, you’ll understand which top management needs to be involved, the product life cycle, and what does all this mean.
