In the United States itself, just 30% of all employees are engaged and motivated. The low engagement levels of 70% of people translate into lost productivity around the $450 to $650 billion mark!
If you think the numbers for the US must be exceptionally low, you are mistaken! Other countries clock even lower employee engagement, with Brazil coming the closest at 26% engagement, followed by Germany at 18%. In countries like India and China, engagement levels are around 6-9%.
Employee engagement is essential for increased productivity and adaptability, especially in today's world of constant and rapid changes.
It may come as a surprise to see how little it takes to change human behavior. But it is not due to what popular culture makes you believe. It's less about money or all things tangible-it's more about the larger picture, fun, engagement, satisfaction and other motivators. This is where Gamification beats all other models hands down.
Gamification offers the potential of engaging, teaching, entertaining employees and even measuring their skills and capabilities. By simulating real-life eventualities in a game format, you can use gamification to engage employees and measure their cognitive skills, capabilities and cultural fit within the organization. People have been shown to surprisingly benefit in effective ways through the clever combination, in Gamification, of fields like psychology, game design, neurophysiology, motivation theory and behaviorism.
This session by expert speaker Mario Herger is going to explain how you can use Gamification in a variety of areas related to energy consumption, safety, training, waste recycling and others while letting your stakeholders - employees and consumers - have fun. Mario will highlight several examples where you will understand different ways of using Gamification in order to engage your employees in training, safety and compliance, as well as motivating consumers to reduce energy waste and recycle.
