Creating Trans-Inclusive Facilities and Policies in Campus to Safeguard Transgender Rights

The administration’s revocation of the “Dear Colleague Letter on Transgender Students” further oppresses one of the most oppressed groups on college campuses and represents a complete reversal of federal efforts over the past few years to ensure the basic civil rights of trans students. But colleges can still legally encode the rights that the administration has revoked; it is time that institutions step up and support their trans students.

So how can college and university officials best meet the needs of trans students in the wake of the revocation of the Title IX guidance in support of trans individuals? How can institutions protect the rights of trans students and create trans-inclusive campus spaces to counter federal and sometimes state government opposition in order to uphold their institutional mission and values?

This webinar by expert speaker Genny Beemyn, Ph.D., will help those who manage facilities and develop policies on college campuses to create trans-inclusive facilities and policies and provide a supportive environment for trans students at a time when many trans people feel that they are under attack constantly. The session will also focus on the need to create trans-inclusive policies throughout every institution.
