The Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, place specific legal obligations on post-secondary institutions for ensuring the reasonable accommodation of disabled students. Institutions are expected to provide auxiliary aids and accommodations for the equal participation of disabled students in education and extra-curricular activities.
