This session by our expert speaker Jerald Henderson, PhD will address the challenges that many institutions are facing when trying to improve student persistence and completion rates on their campus. Dr. Henderson will help in identifying and collecting existing data from key campus offices that provide insight to those factors that influence a student's decision to leave or stay. You will learn how to look at data more deeply as it relates to the collection and analysis that is necessary to provide a more in depth understanding about which students should be targeted when addressing student persistence and graduation programs and initiatives.
Dr. Henderson will also help you identify and select appropriate data collection methods that will uncover current program effectiveness. You will learn how to expand the involvement of faculty, staff, students and administration in the data collection process and also learn to utilize data to justify expansion of current programming, as well as implementing new student persistence and graduation initiatives when and where applicable.
You will learn how to differentiate between meaningful data and descriptive information that will provide a more complete picture of what current programs and initiatives are positively impacting students and where there are shortcomings that need improvement. You will be provided with a research-based framework that will provide a more effective approach to assisting students on campus to persist and graduate. The approach presented in this webinar will be more holistic in nature and can provide the impetus for creating a more systemic model for ongoing efforts to a college or university's student retention and graduation efforts on campus. In addition to the PowerPoint slides, you will receive a sample survey tool that can be edited, revised and specifically designed to fit your particular campus needs in assessing student satisfaction for a particular educational experience (e.g., advising).
In this presentation, you will learn how to:
