Learn Mental Skills That Can Help You Perform Like an Athlete From an Expert Sport Psychologist!

Research indicates that athletes, coaches, and sports administrators strongly believe that “mental toughness” is an important aspect of high level performance in athletic competition. Unfortunately, the concept itself remains vague and there are no clear answers to the often asked questions, “What is mental toughness?” and “How do I get it?”

Fifteen years ago, Dr. Jack J. Lesyk, an experienced sport psychologist, translated mental toughness into nine specific mental skills that can be defined, measured, and taught. Since then he has used this framework in working with over a thousand athletes as well as performance artists and business executives. The framework has been adopted by many of his colleagues both in the USA and overseas.

The framework is easily understood, and with brief training, can be used by coaches, athletes, and other performers as they seek to improve the mental skills necessary for high level performance. It is believed that these skills are the same for all sports and can be applied to other stressful, goal-oriented activities such as performing arts, taking professional licensing exams, job interviews, and giving business presentations.

This session by expert Dr. Jack J. Lesyk will include an explanation of the framework and each of the individual skills and how you can improve on them. Individuals who have mastered these skills report feelings of self-confidence and effectiveness in their goal-oriented activities. You will receive a summary explanation of the nine mental skills of successful athletes as well as a questionnaire for identifying your own mental strengths and weaknesses.
