Event Description
See the sneak peek before you buy!

For the past 5 years retailers in the US have been hard at work establishing programs to manage compliance with hazardous waste regulations. You have seen large settlements in the news where retailers came to terms with managing product waste from stores. Large retailers like Target, CVS and Wal-Mart have put in large national programs so that they can meet the regulatory challenges. What can other retailers learn from these undertakings?

Retail establishments with damaged or unsellable products may be subject to hazardous waste management requirements. Health and beauty products, household chemicals, lawn and garden products, automotive products, pet products, and pharmaceutical products are frequently hazardous wastes when no longer sellable. Retailers must manage these wastes correctly to avoid costly penalties and the persons responsible for the product disposition at a store must be trained. This presentation will meet the training requirements for hazardous waste required for retailers.*

This presentation by expert speaker Wade Miller will provide attendees an overview of the rules and regulations for hazardous waste management and explain how to manage products when they can no longer be sold. This session will also help you get an overview of the waste management regulations retailers struggle with and strategies and tactics that have been adopted by retailers to maintain compliance.
