UV Radiation: Its Causes, Effects, and Cures

If you work with plastics, then you are well aware that outdoor exposure can have profound negative effects on the material’s strength, performance, and lifespan. Depending on their structure, different plastics are subject to varying degrees of ultraviolet-related degradation – though additives and protective coatings can be used to offset some of the damage.

In this informative session, Jansen will outline why and how UV exposure degrades plastics, the consequences, and how you can best test to determine if certain plastics will be negatively affected by UV exposure.
